What If It’s Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera is a sweet, YA (aimed at teenagers) romance. Arthur Seuss is in New York City for the summer with his parents working for his mother’s law firm. On a coffee run he sees Ben Alejo and follows him into the post office. Ben is in the post office attempting to return a box filled with his ex’s possessions. They meet and exchange just enough information to allow cyberstalking to pinpoint identity at which point a number of first dates are attempted. Arthur & Ben’s parents and friends add their own threads to the plot creating an enjoyable stew of young love. This is not an ever after kind of story but it is a realistic, sweet take on youthful love that you don’t have to be a youth to enjoy.
