Have some fun decorating an empty glass jar… You will need:
- Glass jar. Here you can use any you have around from the large pickle jar to the small jam jar.
- Tissue paper in a variety of colors
- Glue
- Brush
The goal is to apply the tissue paper to the jar so start by thinking about your design. Do you want to create a scene? Do you want to make something completely abstract? Do you want to use regular shapes to make a pattern? Once you’ve decided what you want to do cut your tissue paper into the shapes you need to create that design. Then mix some glue with water. I find a ratio of about ½ glue to ½ water works fine. With a brush coat the glass with the glue mixture. Apply a tissue paper shape and lightly coat over it with the glue mixture. Continue applying all the shapes you need to complete your design. Allow the whole thing to dry.
Use your decorated jar anyway you wish. Perhaps you can put tea lights in for a decorative, glowing accent. Perhaps you can turn it into a pencil or pen holder. Maybe it can serve as a vase.
