Book Jacket for: The illustrated world encyclopedia of archaeologyThis week’s question was what is Lascaux known for?  Lascaux is known for its cave paintings.  The cave houses one of the biggest collections of Paleolithic figures including 600 painted animals and abstract signs and almost 1500 engravings.


The question (& answer) were taken from p. 176 of The Illustrated  World Encyclopedia of Archaeology published by Lorenz Books in 2007.
