TOW (Answer)…

The question was:  Which president did Puerto Rican nationalists Oscar Collazo and Griselio Torresola attempt to assassinate?

The answer is Harry S. Truman – in November of 1950.  Torresola was killed in the attempt and Collazo was sentenced to death.  In 1951 Truman commuted his sentence to life imprisonment and President Jimmy Carter freed him in 1979.

The question and its answer are found on p. 521 of TheComplete Book of U.S. Presidents by William A. DeGregorio.  The book is published by Random House and the edition I consulted was from 1997.
