The article “Verdugo Rationing Headquarters will be Discontinued” discusses the distribution of rationed canning sugar. It announces that the Verdugo playground distribution site will be moved to (interestingly) 6145 N. Figueroa St. (that’s the library). The article was found in the 24 September 1942 edition of the Highland Park Post-Dispatch.
