Wilfrid Dellequest’s 7/14/1957 article “The old gray rock watches over the green-clad valley,” tells the story of that local landmark, Eagle Rock. Included in the file is a second article, this one by Virginia Kay. Titled “History and Mystery of Bird Rock Reveal Tales of Red men, Early Settlers and Bandits.” This seems to be a somewhat fictitious recount of legends the previous article says did not exist. Fascinating.
