In Casey McQuiston’s Red, White & Royal Blue we meet Alex whose mother is President of the United States in a world with no Trump. Alex has always hated the English Prince Henry (the English royal family is also different in this world). A photo of the two of them up in apparent arms forces a publicity damage control “friendship” that soon grows into a real friendship and then something more. The two struggle with their relationship against a backdrop of one’s mother’s re-election campaign and the other’s family’s insistence on maintaining the correct image.
All in all this is a sweet, easy-to-read romance with engaging characters. I would recommend it to any lover of romance.
