This time we asked what the world’s most populous city is. And, relatedly, where do US cities appear on that list? The (admittedly small) chart above shows Chongqing, China as the most populous city with a population of 30,484,300. Looking down the list you’ll find New York City, the first US city to appear, at number 30 with 8,622,698 people. Los Angeles is number 39.
