In Talk on the Wild Side Lane Greene revisits the anti-proscriptivist, pro-descriptivist take on language he shared in You Are What You Speak (reviewed here). While the underlying message that languages are constantly in flux and yet remain healthy is the same the stories and facts he uses to support it are different so the book can be looked upon as an expansion of the previous work and not as a reiteration of it.
I always find books about language fascinating and this one is no exception. It is written for the layman and I would recommend it to anyone with a passing interest in language and language usage.
