Let’s Make Something…

Tissue paper pom-pom flowers to be specific.  You will need
  • sheets of colored tissue paper
  • scissors
  • pipe cleaner, I find the twisties from bread bags will work here. You could probably also use fine gauge wire.
Lay out about 8 rectangular sheets of tissue paper.  Obviously, the larger the starting rectangle the larger the resulting flower. Here you can see I made one larger and one smaller flower. You can use all one color or mix it up a little.

Square your sheets up and begin accordion folding them.  I accordion fold from the short end, results in more folds.  Use your twisty to fasten the center of the folded sheets (see image below).

Use your scissors to trim either edge of the folded sheets. You can either found them off (as I did for the larger flower) or triangle cut them (as I did for the smaller flower).

Spread the sheets out from their now secured center and begin to carefully tease each individual sheet up from the rest to give you flower its pom-pom like shape.

Use your finished flowers any way you like.  Maybe as a decorative touch on a gift or to decorate place settings or to spruce up your décor.
