This month’s question was if you are misfortunate enough to suffer a poisoning by digitoxin what should you do? Digitoxin is a cardiac glycoside used to regulate the heart’s rhythm. To counteract its adverse affects you should wash the stomach with strong tea and keep the victim lying down. Give stimulants such as caffeine, ammonia or atropine.
