Exhibit & Programming

The Library Foundation is currently running an exhibit that is based around the recently published book The Autograph Book of LA which is itself based around the Library’s collection of “improved pages” or autographs.  All of this is relevant to our branch because the Library Foundation is also sponsoring programming around the themes of the exhibit and the book, two of which will be here.

The Exhibit asks the question, how can you leave your mark on the city?  We are exploring that question in two different programs…

The first explores Graffiti Art.  Man One, a Los Angeles based artist, will speak about leaving his mark on the world via the transformation of graffiti into an art form.  This program will take place on Saturday, November 16 at 3:00 p.m.

The second program encourages you to make your own mark on the city, in this case via the design and creation of your own zine which you will then share with the world.  The good folks from DSTL Arts will be helping you through the process.  This workshop is open to all ages so bring the whole family and join us on Thursday, December 5 at 4:00 p.m.
