April 13 is CitSciDay, or Citizen Science Day, and the library is participating. To quote from citizenscience.org: “Citizen Science Day is an annual event to celebrate and promote all things citizen science: amazing discoveries, incredible volunteers, hardworking practitioners, inspiring projects, and anything else citizen science-related!”
The Arroyo Seco Branch will be taking part in a Stall Catchers Megathon on that day from 11:00 to 12:00. The goal of the Megathon is to get as many people as possible to play an online game to help answer a key Alzheimer's research question. Stall Catchers, the online game in question, helps scientists by harnessing the game player to the task of data analysis. If 100,000 people across the United States participate in the Megathon they will complete a year’s worth of analysis. You can find more information at megathon.us.
