Check out this newspaper article I found in the California Index. It was
printed on the day the “new” fire station on Figueroa was dedicated and
concerned itself with providing a brief history of the “old” fire station. Included in this history is a picture of
what fire fighting was like in the early 1900s. Also find a blurry picture of the “old” fire station complete
with horse drawn fire wagon.
