Bi-weekly Trivia Question (Answer)….

This time the question was what does an actuary do? Relatedly, what is the median salary of an actuary?  Being an actuary is one of the professions you can take up with a degree in Mathematics.  To quote from our source, “Actuaries use statistical formulas and techniques to calculate the probability of events such as death, disability, sickness, unemployment, retirement, and property loss. Actuaries develop formulas to predict how much money an insurance company will pay in claims, which determines the overall cost of insuring a group, business, or individual.”  The median salary for actuaries is $102,880.
