Ben Schott draws upon his obvious love of the writing of P.G. Wodehouse in his book Jeeves and the King of Clubs. This book brings Jeeves (of course) as well as Bertie Wooster, his feckless friends, his vexatious aunts, and the many character filled women he is avoiding bringing to the altar to life. Schott does an excellent job with his characters and they all ring true to the originals.
The tale revolves around the conceit that Jeeves’ club is really, or perhaps is also, an arm of the government and is involved in investigating potential enemies. Bertie is called upon to assist and a complicated plot to determine the source of a cipher code is undertaken.
Schott does an excellent job with his characters while not brining quite the zany complexity to plot that Wodehouse managed. Read it for a fun revisit with characters you love.
