The Silvered

Tanya Huff introduces us to a new world in The Silvered.  It is a world with mages and science (Victorianish science) and shape shifters and a mad emperor.  Our heroine is on a mission to rescue a pack of mages caught and held by the emperor. All in all it is an exciting adventure with the requisite happy ending.  I’d recommend it to any lover of fantasy.
